My own journey led me to pursue Nutritional Therapy to understand my healing process and help others. With a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences, I have worked and played in environments from the arctic to the sub-antarctic. I thrive in pursuit of wild spaces and knowledge. A few years ago, I was in an airplane crash, which left me with severe crush injuries in both my hands. This led to a diagnosis and struggle of CRPS, a complex pain syndrome, which registers above unprepared childbirth on the McGill pain scale. This prevented bone and tissue healing and sent my nervous system into shock. After years of reconstruction surgery, experimental treatments, nerve blocks, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and mental therapy, I was left hopeless. While going through treatment, I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, which is genetic and linked to pancreatic cancer. I was told, I would never have function in my hands, and that there was nothing I could change in my lifestyle to prevent cancer…Which I did not accept…
With a foundation of strong faith, I re-evaluated my environment and poured into seeking knowledge and understanding. As I became my own advocate and dove into research, and I started healing. I continue to learn and pursue an education that is backed by science-based evidence to support the root cause of symptoms. This was a game-changer in my life.
My goal is to draw in resources from all aspects of my education and experiences to be able to support and educate individuals on their own journey and help to build community. Everyone has a unique and beautiful story. I have deep empathy and would love to be part of supporting yours!
